Mary Washington Branch Monthly Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Mary Washington Branch Preservation Virginia will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the theater of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library on Caroline Street. The program for this month's meeting is "Listen O'Listen," which is a first person impression of General Douglas MacArthur by Bill Young.

6th Annual Fairfax County History Conference

Join local historians at the 6th Annual Fairfax County History Conference on November 6, 2010. This year's topic is "Preserving our Paths of History" with keynote speaker Elizabeth Kostelny, Executive Director of Preservation Virginia. Breakout sessions will include topics that involve historic roads, byways, rivers and buildings of Fairfax County. Also, the Fairfax County Archaeology Lab will hold an open house all day. Cost of $20.00 includes continental breakfast, lunch - afternoon snack, exhibits, authors, trivia contest, prizes and parking. The conference is a partnership with Preservation Virginia-Northern Virginia Branch, Fairfax County History Commission, Fairfax County Park Authority and the Fairfax Museum. Scotchtown's Fall Festival

Scotchtown Stargazing
