Cabasset Helmet

Cabasset Helmet This is the first intact helmet that has been excavated on Jamestown Island. It is called a cabasset for the Spanish word capacete, meaning cap. This type of military headgear originated in Spain in the 15th century but was also made and used in England and other European countries.
